Hello,
yes, the ML1 is capable of performing 1/3 octave noise measurments.
You do need a MiniSPL microphone to do this.
For transferring data to the PC, you'll need a MiniLINK option.
See https://www.nti-audio.com/en/products/minilyzer-ml1/accessories for details.
When purchasing a new device, I recommed to consider the XL2 Sound Level meter, as this is the more sustainable choice for this and future applications. https://www.nti-audio.com/en/products/xl2-sound-level-meter

thank you. i didnt really understand if "minilink" option is free? or it is sold separately?
also, can you tell me please, are you sure i can measure db spl with ML1, for example:
dB(A)
dBLeq
dBLAeq
LAFmax
because i see in the specs that it measures mostly dbu dbv
Hello,
the MiniLink option is sold seperately. It contains a USB hardware interface as well as PC software.
A-weighting filter is available with the ML1.
However, dBLeq, dBLAeq, LAFmax and similar broadband levels are not. For this, you'd need to go for the XL2 Sound Level Meter.
Best Regards,
Gregor
thank you for clearing that up.
do i still need the minilink if i go for the xl 2?
if yes maybe you know how much the minilink costs?
Hello,
the USB interface as well as the SD memory are standard features on the XL2 Sound Level Meter.
Best Regards,
Gregor
thank you Gregor. so to sum it up - if i want to use the xl2 + measurement mic + calibrator, for certified sound level meter measurements, do i need to buy the software in addition? or the sd card with the data is enough ?
Hello,
the USB connection gives you full access to the content of the SD card, - where all the measurement results are stored in easy readable ASCII format files.

hey, im interested in the ml1 and i wanted to know - can i use it to make Noise measurements and view the noise levels in 1/3 octave bands?
if yes, do i need to buy a specific software to do that, in additional to the ml 1?
or i can just connect the ml1 to my mac / pc and get the reports from it?
